| Abstract: | A microwave-assisted chemoselective synthesis of novel pyrazolo[3,4-b]thieno[3,4-e]pyridines has been achieved via tandem Michael addition–cyclization–tautomerization–oxidative aromatization sequence of reactions. Compounds with ortho-substituted phenyl rings exhibited axial chirality due to restricted rotation around C–C single bond. |
