Abstract: | The mechanism of the electrochemical reduction of dithizone to the corresponding hydrazo compound, diphenylthiocarbazide, has been examined in detail by polarographic and voltammetric techniques over a wide pH range. The reaction is reversible and dithizone can be determined polarographically in the range 10-3–10-5M. This polarographic behaviour suggests new applications of dithizone as an electroanalytical reagent. |
