| Abstract: | Synthesis of N-aryl-γ-amino-γ-lactams by oxidative coupling of aromatic amines with 2-pyrrolidinone using catalytic amount of CuO nanoparticles is described. The procedure has broad substrate scope, good yields, complete regioselectivity and catalyst recyclability. |
