| Abstract: | The sorption and transport of CO2, CH4, Ar, and N2 were measured in a melt-extruded film of polysulfone at 35°C. The results are interpreted in terms of the dual sorption and mobility models and compared to the structurally similar glassy polycarbonate. In addition, sorption measurements were made on specimens with various processing and treatment histories including porous membranes prepared by water coagulation of concentrated polysulfone solutions in DMF and THF. The sorption capacity for CO2 varied considerably with the history of the specimen. |
