| Abstract: | The profile of the 1435.93A?Ar(II) line has been measured by using vacuum ultraviolet spectroscopic diagnostics for an argon plasma generated in a 300 amp, atmospheric free-burning arc, over a temperature range of 8000-18000°K. From the line profiles were obtained the Stark shifts and the Stark semi-half widths. Temperature measurements were made using the line 7635.1A?Ar(I) and its adjacent continuum. |
