Adhesive properties of rubbers with promoters based on modified silica filler

Abstract:The influence of new adhesion promoters on the strength of bonding between unfilled rubber materials based on synthetic isoprene rubber SKI-3 and a brass-plated metal cord was studied. The synthesized adhesion promoters are silica fillers modified with cobalt, nickel, or a combination of cobalt and nickel, and they contain on their surface a lower number of ions of metals with variable valency compared to industrial cobalt stearate. It was shown that, among the synthesized adhesion promoters, silica fillers modified with cobalt are the most promising.
