Abstract:We present a realization of weak measurement for the arrival time of a single photon. Our experimental setup is based on a Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer, and a birefringent crystal is used to perform weak measurement between a preselected and a postselected measurement by two polarizers, for the crystal can separate the two components of horizontal polarization and vertical polarization by a small distance compared to the coherence length of photon pairs. In addition, we found that a quartz plate with nonideal length may decrease weak values in some degree.
