| Abstract: | We formulate the boundary of a boundary principle, review its applications in electrodynamics, Yang-Mills theory, and general relativity and translate its basic ideas into geometric language. In each of these three theories the density of the source lets itself be constructed-we discover-out of the curvature associated with the field as a Cartan-like moment of this curvature. |
