On the solution of the facility location problem when the dominance method fails

If the underlying distribution in a stochastic symmetric minimax location problem possesses a dominating point then the symmetry center is known to be an optimal location. It is shown in this paper that the symmetry center is a solution also in those cases where no dominating point exists. Furthermore neither independence of the stochastic terms occuring in the problem nor identical distribution is required.
