Abstract:The infrared optical system is the very important part of infrared system, and focal length is one of the most important specifications of an infrared optical system. It directly affects the performance of positioning and the accuracy of missiles guidance. The magnified visible lighting method has been adopted in order to measure the focal length of an infrared system. However, it is restrained by many factors. In this paper, a system of measuring the focal length for infrared optical system has been developed, With the inverse magnifying method, an infrared light source is utilized to illuminate the normal object which is located in the front of the focal surface of the infrared optical system. The system received signals by locating the liner CCD detector in the rear of the focal surface of the collimator objective. The results are visualized via a computer screen. The focus of an infrared optical system was measured, and the results showed that the stability of system was good and the measuring precision achieved the designed goal.
