The influence of bound molecules on the thermal conductivity in the critical region

Summary An attempt has been made to interpret the thermal conductivity data of CO₂ in the critical region by considering the gas to be a mixture of clusters. Additional heat transfer due to the formation and the breaking of clusters has also been considered.In contradiction to the recent experimental results, the calculated thermal conductivity values do not show a sharp maximum in the critical region. The reasons for this disagreement have been discussed.
