| Abstract: | Di(tert-butylperoxy)triphenylbismuth and the triphenylbismuth—tert-butyl hydroperoxide system react with aliphatic alcohols and cyclohexanol to give carbonyl compounds in high yields. The oxidation occurs as the radical dehydrogenation of alcohols; Bi derivatives serve as the sources of free radicals. |
