Abstract:
The copper ion-exchange process in two different silicate glasses is experimentally studied by means of electron paramagnetic resonance analysis. Differences in the environment of divalent copper ions are found depending on the substrate. The Cu2+ concentration in-depth profile is determined and compared to the total copper diffusion profile as determined from secondary ion mass spectrometry.
