Abstract: | The effects of temperature, heat treatment time, and iridium content in the active layer on the electrocatalytic activity of titanium anodes with active coating during oxygen evolution in 0.5 M sulfuric acid have been investigated. The highest activity of these electrodes is reached when the temperature of final treatment is 450°C, treatment time is 25 min, and iridium content in the active layer is over 2 g/cm2. An X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy study showed that iridium is predominantly in the tetravalent oxidized state in the active layer. |
