Abstract:A longitudinal ultrasonic wave should drag the vortex structure of superconductors at an acute angle with respect to the direction of wave propagation. This motion engenders longitudinal and transverse electric fields in the superconductor and, moreover, effects of the “optical rectification” type contribute to the observed longitudinal and transverse electric fields. The effect should be observed in all type-II superconductors above the irreversibility line. Both fields have extrema with respect to temperature and magnetic field. In contrast to the acoustoelectric effect in the normal state, the sign of the induced electric field depends on the external magnetic field. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor.
