Abstract: | The diffusion-induced inhomogeneity in the supersaturation on close packed faces of KDP crystals, growing from aqueous solutions has been investigated. The interferometrically found values of the concentration difference on the crystal edge and in the centre of the most closely packed face {100} were compared with the theoretically expected concentration nonhomogeneities calculated by means of CHERNOV 's formula. The comparison has been performed especially for the moment when the KDP crystals lose the stability of their polyhedral shape and gradually acquire a skeletal form. A fairly good coincidence was found. |
