| 摘 要： | The problem of calculating the step capacitance between two rectangular waveguides of the same width but of different heights seems to be an old one. One family of curves in Marcuvitz's celebrated Waveguide Handbook has aroused the author's interest to investigate thisproblem anew. The classical method of field matching is employed to set up the formal solution, however, as the final answer, an average process is adopted to arrive at a closed form formula that can be treated numerically with ease. An example with an accuracy of about 1％ is given.
