Abstract: | Summary The determination of Au, Pt, Pd and Rh at ng- and pg-levels in manganese crust, natural water and geological and biological standards is based upon extraction of these elements with Se via a coprecipitation technique, elaborated as a micro-technique. All steps of the combined procedure are controlled by radiotracer (195Au) and yields vary between 90 and 100%. Zeeman graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry and total reflection X-ray spectrometry are employed as determination steps. Sources of systematic errors are discussed.
