| Abstract: | The progress on the total synthesis of epibatidine was reviewed with 34 references. It consists of four parts: the discovery of epibatidine and the determination of its structure; the back synthesis of epibatidine; the synthesis of azobicyclic compounds; the total synthesis epibatidine. |
