Soliton mechanism of ion mobility in incommensurate structures

Abstract:A model of soliton ion mobility in one-dimensional incommensurate structures is considered as the possible mechanism of information transmission in molecular systems. Numerical calculations of the dependence of the diffusion activation energy on the concentration of mobile ions are performed. Experimental NMR data on lithium ion mobility in a model LixNbSe3 (03) compound with a quasi-one-dimensional structure are presented.
