Interaction between C 60 and Calixarene(n=4 or 8) in Vibrational Spectra Studied with Raman Scattering
Abstract:Abstract Raman spectra of C 60 ball put into the Calix arene of syn conformations for compounds 4 6 were performed. It is very different interaction between C 60 and Calixarene n=4 or 8, so that the vibratory spectroscopy are more varied than pervious works:the Ag(2) breathing (pentagonal pinch) mode at 1469 cm -1 and Hg(8) tangential (double bond stretching) modes at 1573 cm -1 have been perished, there are other seven peaks at 39, 130,208,357,395,466, and 1163cm -1 , respectively. The most strong mode of them is the peak at 466 cm -1 . The fine structures spectrum shows that there are four peaks around 1100 cm -1 , i.e.1048、1067、1125 and 1163 cm -1 , respectively. It is of interest to see that three low frequency modes (39、130 and 208 cm -1 ) are shown clearly. It is primarily interpreted as confinement effect of Calix arene Framework for C 60 ball, the intramolecular bridge between C 60 and Calix arene Framework are partly formed, so that the vibratiory environments of carbon atom have been altered, and then most of thses modes must be changed. It is must pointed out that there are no information considered in Raman spectra for Calix arene without C 60 at R.T. 
