Abstract: | The results of investigating the hydrodynamic processes in the melt during garnet-structure Czochralski crystal-growing (yttrium-aluminum garnet single crystals 25–40 mm in diameter) using an induction heater are presented. A mathematical model of the hydrodynamics and heat transfer in the melt based on the two-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations in the Boussinesq approximation is proposed. The effect of the convective heat transfer on the shape of the crystallization front, which is an important characteristic of the quality of single crystals, is determined in terms of the rotation velocity of the crystal and the induction heating parameters.Moscow.
