Abstract:The Packed Redundant Binary(PRB) number representation generalized from the RB (Redundant Binary) number system has greater efficiency than both RB and MSD (Modified Signed Digit) representation. It is suitable for optical computing and permits a limited steps for algebraic sum. Based on the analysis of PRB representation, high efficiency optical Packed Redundant Binary number addition system using Boolean Polarization-Encoded Logic Algebra (BPLA) is presented.
