Abstract:
The concept of the multi-component coupling in one-pot was applied to a polymer support carbohydrate synthesis to enhance the total efficiency of the oligosaccharide synthesis. Polymer bound disaccharides and trisaccharides were synthesized in a one-pot operation by the combination of imidates and thioglycosides. The by-products and reagents were simply washed off, thereby facilitating the purification of the products. Cleavage of the saccharides from the polymer support was carried out by catalytic hydrogenation.
