How synthesis parameters influence the structure and properties of calcium fluoroapatite

Abstract:A moderate-temperature method for the synthesis of calcium fluoroapatite in chloride and carbonate melts is developed. It is shown that fluoroapatite can contain CO32− and OH groups in different ratios depending on the parameters of its synthesis. The influence of CO32− and OH groups on the sorption properties of apatite, in particular, on the sorption of Cu2+ ions is considered. The greater the number of the CO32−- and OH groups in the structure of apatite, the higher is the value of sorption.
