Abstract:Under hydrothermal conditions, the colloidal of Na0.33WO3 were obtained by using Na2WO4·2H2O as the starting material. The products were characterized by XRD, XPS, ICP and IR methods. The color of Na0.33WO3 sol can easily change from purple to blue-purple, then to blue by UV irradiation with good reversibility. There are three absorbance peaks in UV-Vis-NIR transmission spectra of the Na0.33WO3 sol mixed with trace PVA. The XPS measurement shows that the number of W5+ increased after UV irradiation. The PVA/NaxWO3 thin films were deposited on quartz substrates by dip-coating technique with the mixture of PVA, Na0.33WO3 sol and water. The photochromic property of the film was studied.
