| Abstract: | Plane steady flow is considered for an ideal incompressible stratified fluid in a gravitational field of force. It is a characteristic feature of these flows that the density is constant and Bernoulli's constant remains the same along a streamline. Internal waves arise because of ponderability in the stratified fluid; they are not due to the presence of a free surface.
