| Abstract: | The title reaction proceeds smoothly in MeOH-H2O to give the salts RuCl(P)L 2](ClO4), H2O (1, 2) or Ru(PP)L2](ClO4)2, H2O (3, 4) where L=N(1)-benzyl-2-(arylazo)imidazole, P=PPh3, or PPh2Me, and PP=Ph2P(CH2)2PPh2 (dppe) or Ph2P(CH2)3PPh2(dppp). The complexes have been characterised by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods. |
