| Abstract: | Starting from chlorocarbonyl isocyanate and BBr3, the compound bromocarbonyl isocyanate, BrC(O)NCO, has been prepared. The IR, Raman, mass and 13C NMR spectra have been obtained and interpreted. The vibrational data point to the existence of planar trans and cis conformers (with respect to the double bonds), the trans conformer being by far the more abundant at room temperature. |
