Abstract: | Two- and three-dimensional quantitative, saturation-recovery, NMR imaging has been applied to two sandstone reservoir cores. M0 and T1 images of high quality have been obtained with reasonable data-acquisition and data-processing times. The T1 and T2 processes have been shown to be correlated; the variations of the parameters within the images and the differences between the bulk and image relaxation values are discussed. The results of a quantitative T1 imaging experiment of a phantom are also presented in order to demonstrate the advantages of quantitative NMR imaging over standard bulk measurements. |
