Abstract: | A new detection method is presented for detecting the weak optical signal scattered back from a topographic target. The weak signal arriving from the topographic target is amplified by the frequency modulated transmitter laser of a LIDAR system and the amplified signal is mixed with the frequency shifted transmitter laser beam. The method is used in a differential absorption LIDAR for remote sensing of molecular air pollution. |
