Modeling transonic weakly underexpanded turbulent jets

The results of the calculations of model and actual turbulent jet flows with shock waves at low supersonic Mach numbers are presented. The gasdynamic flow features characterizing shock reflection from a mixing layer are analyzed. A possible version of the modified model for the turbulent viscosity is proposed; the model makes it possible to improve the prediction of the shock (rarefaction wave) intensity distribution along jet flows.
