Soliton and shock wave solutions to the Degasperis–Procesi equation with power law nonlinearity

This paper obtains the solitary wave as well as the shock wave solutions of the Degasperis–Procesi equation. Both regular nonlinearity as well as power law nonlinearity are considered. The constraint relations are identified in the process of obtaining the nonlinear wave solutions.
