| Abstract: | By means of the photo-voltaic effect at a p-n junction the quantum efficiency of the internal photo-electric effect in germanium was measured for the wave lengths of X-rays of 0.56; 0.71; 1.54; 1.93 Å. It was found that an energy of 2.5 eV irrespective of the, wave length, was needed in this region for the production of one electron-hole pair. This value corresponds well with measurements in the ultraviolet part of the spectrum. |
