| Abstract: | The development of Inmarsat system is introduced first in this paper, which includes the technical specifications of the Inmarsat satellite and its all kinds of terminals. The BGAN system and its terminals are summarized in detail with respect to the composition, technical specifications and key techniques. The Inmarsat development characteristics of techniques, services and terminal implementation are presented. The applications of Inmarsat system in areas such as ocean shipping, aviation communication, land mobile communication, emergency communication and news report are described. |
