| Abstract: | Pectin substances have been isolated from the epigeal pan of love-lies-bleeding,Amaranthus cruentus (A. caudatus), and have been characterized. The presence in them of galacturonic acid, galactose, rhamnose, xylose, arabinose, fructose, and glucose residues has been established.
