Compactin — A new orobol bioside fromGenista compacta

From the epigeal part ofGenista compacta has been isolated the new isoflavone bioside compactin — C₂₇H₃₀O₁₆, mol. wt 610, mp 206–208°C, α] _D ²⁰ + 35.8° — for which on the baseos chemical transformations and spectral characteristics the structure of 7-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 → 2)-β-D-glucopyransyloxy]-3′,4′,5-trihydroxyisoflavone, or orobol 7-O-β-sophoroside, has been established.
