Abstract: | Summary. Treatment of diphenyl and dibenzyl diselenides with aliphatic and aromatic acid chlorides in the presence of Zn/AlCl3 affords selenol esters. Availability, low costs, and lack of toxicity of the catalysts, simple reaction work-up, and high yields under relatively mild condition are distinct advantages of this method. Corresponding author.
