A simple and effective approach to the synthesis of alkynyl selenides from terminal alkynes |

| Abstract: | Alkynyl selenides were prepared under very mild conditions by reacting terminal alkynes with respective diorganic diselenides in the presence of potassium t-butoxide.The advantages of this protocol include the use of readily available substrates and reagent and good yield of the products. |
