Abstract:
Fullerene was easily converted to its derivatives by the treatment with benzocyclobutene homologs for 20 h at 140 °C. The spectroscopic analyses clearly indicate mono-4+2]-cycloadduct structures of its derivatives. Isolated yields of mono- and di-adducts were from 4.4 to 15.6% and from 8.1 to 5.3%, respectively.
