Some exact solutions to the sine-Gordon equations

Abstract:We present some new exact (solitary and traveling) solutions to the sine-Gordon equationsc 2uxx–utt = agr sinu andcu xt+ utt = agr sinu, and the dissipative sine-Gordon equationc 2uxx–uttgammaut=agr1 sinu+agr 2 sin(2u). Here,agr, agr 1, andagr 2 are the coupling constants, real numbers;c is theintrinsic speed of the propagating wave determined by the system; andgamma is the damping factor. The physical implication is briefly discussed.
