| Abstract: | We report a gold-catalyzed benzannulation of 3-hydroxy-1,5-enynes to generate tetrahydronaphthalenes. This mild process proves to be an effective method to synthesize various metasubstituted aromatic rings in good yields. [reaction: see text] |
