Synthesis of pyreno[b]thiophenes

The synthesis of all the isomers of pyrenob]thiophene namely, pyreno1,2-b]thiophene, pyreno2,1-b]thiophene and pyreno4,5-b]thiophene is described. Their spectral characteristics are also discussed.
