Polarographische Bestimmung von vierwertigem Titan in Titantrichlorid

Zusammenfassung Eine polarographische Methode zur Bestimmung von kleinen Gehalten (oberhalb 0,1%) an vierwertigem Titan in festem Titantrichlorid und seinen Kohlenwasserstoffsuspensionen wurde ausgearbeitet. Als Leitelektrolyt wird eine 0,1 n Chlorwasserstofflösung in gereinigtem Äthanol angewendet; zur Analyse von festem Titantriohlorid ist auch eine 0,1 m wäßrige Oxalsäurelösung geeignet. Die Reproduzierbarkeit der Bestimmung beträgt bei Proben, die etwa 0,1–4% vierwertiges Titan enthalten, etwa 0,05% bei der Polarographie in äthanolischen und 0,08% in wäßrigen Lösungen. Besondere Aufmerksamkeit ist der Probenahme zu widmen.

Summary A polarographic method for determining small amounts (above 0.1%) of tetravalent titanium in solid titanium trichloride and its suspensions in hydrocarbons has been worked out. A 0.1 N solution of hydrogen chloride in ethanol is used a basic electrolyte; a 0.1 M aqueous solution of oxalic acid can be used for analysing solid titanium trichloride. The reproducibility of the determination is 0.05% in ethanol and 0.08% in aqueous solutions of samples containing between 0.1 and 4% of tetravalent titanium.
