Synthesis and study of some derivatives of cinchoninic acid

2-(4-Phenylquinolin-2-yl)cinchoninic and 2-(quinoxalin-2-yl)-5,6-benzocinchoninic acids have been synthesized. They have been subjected to decarboxylation and their chlorides and esters, amides, and anilides have been prepared.
