Abstract: | A simple and easy-to-use collimation tester suitable for short coherence length lasers is described. The device is based on shearing interferometry using a compensation plate that enables a zero path length difference of the interfering beams and can be used for lasers of virtually vanishing coherence length, such as found in fs-lasers and high-power multimode lasers. |
