Abstract:

High-pressure powder X-ray diffraction experiments have been done on Zn with a He-pressure medium at room and low temperatures. No anomaly in the c / a axial ratio has been found even at low temperatures. This implies that the c / a anomaly, which is predicted to appear associated with the electronic topological transitions, would be extremely small.
