Possible superconductivity in metallic Xenon |

| Abstract: | Abstract We report here metallization and possible superconductivity in Xenon when it is subjected to a pressure of the order of 137 GPa. The metal is found to be in the hcp phase at this pressure and our band structure calculations done using the linear muffin-tin orbital method show that the band gap closes around this pressure. |
