摘要：	B(?)cklund transformations for the equation a~2u/ax~1ax~1 a~2u/ax~2ax~2=f(u)(here fis an arbitrary function)is studied in this paper,using the procedure of Wahlquist andEstabrook(WEP).We conclude that the condition d~2f/du~2=λf is sufficient for theexistence of Backlund transformations for the equation of our interest.A special case of ourresults leads to the conclusion of Leibbrandt.
