| Abstract: | Based on the investigation from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, we present an up-to-date account of research trends in physical chemistry especially in sub-areas such as spectroscopy, interfacial chemistry and theoretical chemistry. We also analyzed the recent research progress of some key programs that are funded by the National Natural Science Fondation of China (NSFC) in mainland China in detail with the aim of shaping our future strategies to screen for key programs in physical chemistry and to better their management. |
